McKesson Pharmacy Systems has reached an all-time high transaction volume through its PharmacyRx application service provider (ASP) model. Collectively, more than 2 million prescription claims transactions move through the system in a month.

The ASP, or “software as a service,” model is becoming more common in all areas of business. An ASP helps make PharmacyRx an affordable yet robust pharmacy management system designed with a graphical user interface (GUI). The product is now on version 2.6, which was made available in February and is currently being rolled out to all customers. The latest version includes a redesigned GUI and additional data exports for more custom reporting and additional interfaces for better interoperability.
