Wolters Kluwer Health has combined its leading drug information resource, Drug Facts & Comparisons, with its Medi-Span software. The new offering is Integrated Facts & Comparisons, giving access to referential drug information within the pharmacy workflow.

“This is the first true hybrid of its kind,” says Mark Millikan, senior director of drug information product management at Wolters Kluwer Health. The product seamlessly integrates monographs into pharmacy workflow without having to log in and log out to have access to this information. Also, a pharmacy does not have to be a Medi- Span customer to enjoy the benefits. It can be linked to multiple drug concepts, including the national drug code, Medi-Span’s Dispensable Drug Identifier, the Drug Name Identifier, or the company’s Routed Drug Name Identifier.

Integrated Facts & Comparisons is viewed as an ideal companion to Facts & Comparisons 4.0, the electronic library of complete drug information. When a broader, more interactive search is needed, 4.0 can be accessed via the Internet or on CD-ROM for intranet and desktop applications.
