Ron Davis, president of Speed Script , has announced that his company has formed partnerships with eRx Network and PPOk/Rx Linc, increasing the third-party claims-switching options for its users. “With eRx Network’s emphasis on innovation and web-based tools, I think our business philosophies complement each other,” says Davis. eRx Network maintains data centers in Chicago and Fort Worth with automatic failover and load-balancing capabilities. Should any problem occur, each facility is capable of handling 100% of the transactions, he says.

PPOk/Rx Linc is a private network owned by community pharmacists. Lonny Wilson, CEO of the company, sees the interoperability of the two systems as a way to increase services offerings to Speed Script users. These include third-party contract management, contract compliance monitoring, real-time MAC pricing evaluations, pre- and postediting, electronic reconciliation, and access to the SureScripts electronic prescribing gateway.

For pharmacies servicing 340B programs, according to Davis, Speed Script allows pharmacies to fill 340B prescriptions without having to enter a drug’s NDC number twice, or having to enter the drug with a pseudo NDC. 

Davis likes the new “virtual inventory” feature that has been added. “Virtual means that the pharmacy uses its own stock for both retail and 340B prescriptions; however, there is still the option to maintain separate inventories,” he says.
