The Star~Lite and Star~Plus point-of-sale systems (POS) from Retail Management Solutions (RMS) have been certified as payment application best practices (PABP) compliant by igxglobal, Inc. This certification was given after igxglobal validated that both of RMS’s POS systems were in compliance with the Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP). This validation included a database review, documentation analysis, and lab testing against the CISP PABP standards and requirements.

“Merchants processing, transmitting, and storing credit-card numbers must be payment card industry (PCI) and data security standard (DSS) compliant or they risk losing the ability to process credit-card payments,” says Brad Jones, president and CEO of RMS. According to Jones, merchants must validate compliance with their card processor by completing a PCI self-assessment questionnaire annually. Using a POS system that is PABP compliant is a way to ensure PCI DSS compliance.
