HBS Provides DocuTrack Interface | Print |  E-mail

Health Business Systems (HBS), an SXC company, is making it easier for its customers to handle electronic prescriptions through an interface with Integra's DocuTrack system. The interface will allow the HBS system to send prescription orders into DocuTrack, and all documents and reports that can be printed by the HBS system can be sent to DocuTrack for access within the workflow of the pharmacy.

DocuTrack uses an integrated fax server to handle all incoming and outgoing faxes, organizing these by facility and date received, then delivering them to the first step of a pharmacy's workflow, giving pharmacy staff access to any document type, such as electronic forms for prior authorizations and therapeutic interchange.

"HBS has enhanced its workflow capabilities to allow pharmacists to check prescriptions more frequently using imaging of tablets, along with scanners, and with DocuTrack we are one step closer to an error-free pharmacy," notes Steven Hess, HBS VP of pharmacy operations.

Electronic receipt of physician orders is an important element in improving patient safety. "This is a very high demand feature among many of our clients, and we are pleased that HBS took the necessary steps to include DocuTrack," says Louie Foster, Integra's director of product development.
