The NPI Mapping Edit service offered by eRx Network has successfully converted 96% of legacy provider identifiers to the prescribers' national provider identifier (NPI) for customers using this edit. According to the company, without this service these pharmacies were experiencing a 35% rejection rate on claims requiring the NPI, where the NPI was unknown.

The eRx Network edit automatically converts a prescriber's legacy identifier to the NPI as claims are routed through its switch. The company also recently received full accreditation by the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC). EHNAC is an independent not-for-profit accrediting agency that provides peer evaluation of an organization's ability to perform at industry-established levels to promote administrative simplification and cost savings. EHNAC accredits entities that send or receive HIPAA transactions. These entities include clearinghouses, transaction processors, value-added networks, payers, providers, and provider management organizations.
