Retail Management Solutions (RMS) will begin offering the Suncrest HangRx product as an optional module to the RMS point-of-sale (POS) system. RMS will also offer HangRx as a stand-alone product to pharmacies that do not have a POS system or have a system from a different vendor.

Brad Jones, president and CEO of RMS, says that HangRx is easy to use and the most cost-effective solution he has seen for will-call bin management. "We were about to go down this path on our own, but when we saw HangRx we were so pleased that we decided to integrate it into our system and signed a marketing agreement with Suncrest," he says.

The way HangRx works is that a person in the pharmacy scans the bar code on a HangRx plastic bag and then scans each of the prescriptions as they are placed in the bag. At the register the bar code on the bag is scanned, and all the prescriptions in the bag appear on the register screen as separate line items. There are also an outbound calling feature and text messaging to remind customers that their prescriptions are ready for pickup.
