Quantus Inventory is a new automated inventory management system for pharmacies from Emerlyn Technologies that targets a single pharmacy or chain. Inventory is tracked through its entire life cycle with Quantus, from ordering, receiving, dispensing, adjustments, and transfers. For a chain, real-time reports provide corporate-wide information on inventory levels, variances, and stale inventory at each pharmacy location.

The software integrates with most pharmacy systems. Among its features are electronically submitting orders to one or more vendors, evaluating contracts, and offering pricing and availability through SureCost, another of the company's inventory-specific products. Pharmacies can use the company's OneScan product to facilitate invoice reconciliation.

"Since pharmacies have limited control on the pricing side of the business, we have committed our focus to the buy side to provide the greatest impact on the pharmacy's bottom line," says Calvin Hunsicker, a pharmacist himself and president of the company.
