Centice Corporation, a leading company in the drug verification field, has installed its flagship product, Pass Rx, at two North Carolina pharmacies. Prevo Drug in Asheboro and Person Street Pharmacy in Raleigh are the early adopters of this new technology.

Pass Rx is the only technology available to retail pharmacy that verifies the chemical composition of dispensed oral solid drugs, done through core computational sensor and machine vision technologies in a matter of seconds. The Centice system is used at the end of the fulfillment process.

The two pharmacies are members of the North Carolina Mutual Wholesale Drug cooperative, with which Centice has a marketing arrangement. Centice President and CEO Ray Swanson says that “Prevo and Person Street have found that the system fits seamlessly into their workflow.” The company was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Research Triangle Park in North Carolina.
