Fruth Pharmacy, with stores in southern Ohio and West Virginia, has selected the Activant Eagle point-of-sale system to improve efficiencies in the retail side of the business and better manage the inventory in its 25 stores and two warehouses. Don Pullin, Fruth’s CEO, says that the previous system was too time-consuming to gather data and generate reports. “It is impossible to try to manage a business and make effective executive decisions these days based on quarterly and year-end reports,” he says. Now he looks forward to using Activant’s Business Advisor software for real-time access to store performance. Fruth balances its pharmaceutical sales with a large retail offering that includes gift items, soft goods, groceries, and hardware items. “Activant has been a leader in providing technology solutions to Main Street retailers for over 30 years. We have a strong track record of helping retailers better manage and track inventory, improve pricing strategies, boost employee efficiency, and enhances customer service,” says Scott Hanson, Ativant’s senior VP of sales. He says this is accomplished by training customers on how to best leverage all the new information from the system.
