FDA to Use ScriptPro’s Drug Database | Print |  E-mail

ScriptPro has been awarded a contract by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to provide a searchable drug database for FDA’s internal use. The database, which is based on the drug information resource that ScriptPro provides to its pharmacy automation systems, includes all prescription and over-the-counter products available for human use. According to ScriptPro this is the largest and most complete electronic image database for the U.S., Canada, and international markets.

In addition to including high-quality drug and drug package images for on-screen product verification, all versions of each drug released in the market include markings and other descriptive elements to distinguish the NDC versions. Auxiliary warning labels applicable to the products and drug-specific alerts, along with FDA black-box warnings, are also in the database.
