Innovation, known for its PharmASSIST pharmacy automation solutions, has signed a discounted service agreement with Apexus, the Health Resources and Services Administration’s prime vendor for the 340B program’s prime vendor program (PVP). The agreement allows Innovation to offer its PharmASSIST products at preferred prices to hospitals and health centers that are 340B PVP participants. John Wilson, VP of institutional sales for Innovation, finds that the 340B drug program has been a strong motivator for hospitals and health centers to improve access to outpatient pharmacy services for their eligible patient population. “Whether an outpatient pharmacy processes hundreds or thousands of prescriptions daily, our cost-effective technology helps increase capacity, optimize labor, and improve patient satisfaction and medication safety,” Wilson says. Apexus, founded in 2007, is a nonprofit corporation in Irving, Texas. The company is the HRSA’s Office of Pharmacy Affairs prime vendor for securing discounts on 340B outpatient drug purchases and other related products and services for participating public hospitals, community health centers, and safety-net healthcare providers electing to join the program.
