Manchac Technologies, located in Alexandria, La., has entered into an agreement with Rx Systems to manufacture and distribute a cold-seal card for Manchac’s DOSIS L60 automated fulfillment robot for the long-term-care market.

Manchac customers using its DOSIS L60 system will now have a fully automated solution for pharmacies filling 30- and 31-day single medication blister cards.

The agreement with Rx Systems expands the viability of cold seal as an option to heat sealing. “Anytime you can keep excess heat away from your medication, by eliminating human error when using a manual heat-seal press, you maintain the integrity of the drug’s active ingredients,” says Monroe Milton, Manchac’s cofounder and president.

Rx Systems, located in St. Charles, Mo., has been a full-service provider of pharmacy packaging and supplies for over 20 years.
