Med Management Technology in Eagle, Idaho, has released its next-generation electronic medication administration record (EMR) for the long-term-care market.

The company’s QuickMAR version 2.0 manages the entire medication life cycle-from interfacing with order entry at the pharmacy to delivery, recording the med pass, tracking inventory, and managing medication destruction. In addition, the new version allows for independent management of treatments. QuickMAR v2 allows for a separate med pass and treatment pass. This means that a treatment can be recorded during the time of the med pass or as a separate treatment pass, a feature that Stan Turner, president of the company, says “our skilled nursing facilities are very excited about.” Current customers will automatically be upgraded to the new version as part of the company’s service arrangement with its users.
