All Star~Lite and Star~Plus Retail Management Solutions (RMS) point-of-sale (POS) systems now come with biometrics security. This includes a fingerprint-scanning pad near the keyboard of the registers. With this, employees have a one-touch, nearly instant log-in to use the POS system.

"Biometrics provides a secure identification that isn't going to be left at home, shared with other employees, or misplaced," notes Brad Jones, president and CEO of RMS.

Jones also reports that the company's POS systems were chosen by more pharmacies in AmerisourceBergen's Good Neighbor Pharmacy networks than any other POS brand in 2009. "We had 100 GNP locations select our system last year, which represented 45% of the systems installed in GNP locations."
