Activant Adds PA-DSS to POS System

Activant Solutions has announced that its Activant Eagle point-of-sale system has been validated as compliant with the Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) version 1.2. Trustwave, an approved payment application qualified security assessor, tested the Eagle software and found that it met or exceeded all of the PA-DSS requirements. Activant Eagle software is the cornerstone of Activant's suite of PCI compliance-related products and services. The Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council was created in 2006 by five major credit-card companies to improve payment account data security. PA-DSS is the global security standard that was established for software vendors who develop payment applications that process, store, or transmit cardholder information as part of the payment transaction.
