Rx30 to Offer Medication Guides Printing

The Rx30 system from Transaction Data Systems (TDS) is the first pharmacy management system to implement the Integrated Drug Facts and Comparisons that includes drug monographs as well as medication guides.

Steve Wubker, president of TDS, says that his goal is to continue to streamline processes that address quality information and verification tools for pharmacists using the Rx30 system. "We are pleased to be the first pharmacy management software vendor to work with Medi-Span to incorporate the Integrated Facts and Comparisons product into our application," he says.

Wubker explains that pharmacists have had to shoulder the burden of dealing with the growing volume of medication guides, along with the storage space and coordination issues in handling these documents. "We now take these burdens away by automatically alerting when a medication guide is available for that drug and, best of all, these two programs are available to our 2,400-plus independent pharmacies at no charge," he says.

Another upgrade to the Rx30 workflow management module lets the pharmacist track the flow of prescriptions from inception to delivery, with hard-copy scans, pill images, and bar-code scanning throughout the prescription process, as well as employee badge scanning. The enhancements to the workflow module are also being made available at no charge.
