SXC Health Solutions has been awarded a three-year, multimillion dollar contract to provide its

Resident Care Management (RCM) technology and services to PharMerica through its Health Care Information Technology group.

Under the terms of the agreement, PharMerica will receive SXC’s long-term care claims adjudication and RCM consulting services. PharMerica operates more than 100 institutional pharmacies in the United States that serve approximately 326,000 patient beds in LTC facilities.

“The LTC market is beginning to invest more heavily in advanced managed pharmacy services, creating a significant market opportunity for SXC,” says Mark Thierer, president and CEO of SXC.

Greg Weisher, CEO of PharMerica, says that he sees SXC’s RCM products as key elements in his company’s plan to improve the quality of pharmacy services and deliver proven cost-management solutions. “The flexibility of SXC’s technology and our ability to easily integrate RCM were critical factors in choosing SXC,” Weisher says.
