United Drugs Expands Member Offerings

This pharmacy cooperative, with over 1,000 pharmacy members nationwide, will collaborate with Outcomes Pharmaceutical Health Care, on the delivery of medication therapy management (MTM) services to eligible patients. After pharmacists have completed the Outcomes training program, they will be eligible to begin providing MTM services. Outcome services include an annual comprehensive medication review of eligible patients and ongoing services throughout the year. “On a daily basis our pharmacies experience over- and under-utilization, duplicate, or inappropriate therapies, inaccurate dosages, and high-cost drug choices. The Outcomes MTM program provides another way to demonstrate value to patients, as well as the health plan, for these pharmacist-based services,” says Bruce Semingson, CEO of United Drugs.

United Drugs has also announced that it has chosen Rx30 as a technology partner for its member network. In commenting on this, Steve Wubker, president of Transaction Data Systems, developer of the Rx30 system, says, “Our combined goal is to bring an array of performance- and profit-enhancing tools to United’s members through the functionality of the Rx30 pharmacy management system and our backend data services.” The selection of Rx30 followed a thorough review of numerous proposals. Elizabeth Schrader, VP of operations and finance at United, notes that “Rx30 has certainly proven to be an innovative and growing independent software management company, and we are pleased to offer their product to our member stores.”
