| Benefit Eligibility Service Sees Increased Use |
|
The service that eRx Network launched in 2006, eRx CardFinder, to help pharmacists determine patient benefit eligibility, is now used by more than 14,000 pharmacies. The service provides real-time coverage information for more than 220 million covered lives, as well as Medicare coverage information. Pharmacies using the service range from independents to national chains. “As with all our services, eRx CardFinder is designed with our customers’ profitability, efficiency, and accuracy in mind,” says Murray Lyle, president and COO of eRx Network. The company has also received full accreditation with the Healthcare Network Accreditation Program (HNAP) from the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC). This accreditation indicates compliance with industry-established standards and HIPAA privacy regulations. The process involved evaluating eRx Network in the areas of privacy protection and security infrastructure, which included a review of the process of managing and transferring protected health information to meet or exceed all EHNAC criteria. “We are honored to have eRx Network join our select group of HNAP-accredited organizations, and congratulate them on this achievement,” says Lee Barrett, executive director of EHNAC. |
