PDX and Rx.com have entered into a strategic agreement with Microsoft to make prescription data, which Rx.com manages for chains and independents, available to HealthVault users. Now any pharmacy using Rx.com’s electronic pharmacy record (EPR) can export its patients’ prescription history into HealthVault. While each PDX pharmacy client will have its own relationship with Microsoft, PDX will integrate the pharmacy’s data with the HealthVault platform. Meijer is the first PDX client to start this integration.

The Rx.com EPR currently includes almost half of its 10,000 pharmacies across the United States, representing over 65 million patients and almost 1 billion prescriptions. Another 1,000 pharmacies, representing an additional 15.6 million patients and 250 million prescriptions, will be implementing the EPR over the next six months.

The company also announced that Boise, Idaho-based Albertson’s has selected PDX and affiliates Rx.com and NHIN as its turnkey partners for its pharmacy technology solutions. Albertson’s is replacing the current system with the new Enterprise Pharmacy System and will be implementing the Rx.com EPR to facilitate chain-wide DUR checking and allow patients to use any of the Albertson’s pharmacies to have their prescriptions filled.
