Innovation Gets the Nod from IPC

The Independent Pharmacy Cooperative (IPC), located in Sun Prairie, Wisc., has selected Innovation as its preferred pharmacy automation vendor. The agreement with Innovation as the vendor of workflow software and automated counting and robotic dispensing will provide the more than 3,000 IPC member pharmacies with a variety of financial incentive programs and discounts on Innovation’s PharmASSIST product line.

“We are excited to offer this new automation vendor contract to IPC,” says Gary Helgerson, CEO of IPC. “Innovation’s PharmASSIST suite of products delivers a comprehensive collection of answers for the everyday automation concerns of our stores.”

Innovation recently introduced its next generation of the PharmASSIST SmartCabinet counting technology. The latest version incorporates a high-resolution, touch-screen display, a tuck-away keyboard and mouse drawer, and 46 independently operating tablet and capsule dispensers, which count prescriptions simultaneously. According to the company the new version also boasts the industry’s smallest footprint of 3 square feet, the industry’s highest dispenser capacity, a unique on-site dispenser calibration, and computer-controlled locked hopper doors. The filling capacity can be expanded by adding standard cabinets, each with 50 dispensers and the same small footprint. There is also the option of migrating the existing SmartCabinet system to Innovation’s Symphony+ counting technology with workflow software or to the company’s ROBOTx robotic dispensing system.
