In a strategic alliance with VoicePort, a company located in Rochester, N.Y., voiceTech, headquartered in Venice, Fla., will be offering pharmacies an alternative to an outbound calling IVR system that is deployed in the pharmacy. Through VoicePort’s advanced speech technology and hosting capabilities, pharmacies will be able to avoid a capital outlay with this software-as-a-service model for “proactive” outbound patient messaging. “This is a very sophisticated customer notification system that engages customers with actionable options,” says Tim Garofalo, president and CEO of voiceTech. In a double-blind controlled pharmacy study conducted by VoicePort, the company found that using its PharmaPhonetics interactive outbound calls to patients increased refills 25% to 30%. The study also found that inbound calls to the pharmacy were reduced. A VoicePort–voiceTech application-programming interface (API) is being made available that combines the strength of the two company’s APIs, says Christopher Mann, president and CEO of VoicePort. |
