Freedom Data Systems now offers a point-of-sale system for smaller pharmacies. Called PRO/POS Lite, this is a condensed version of its regular POS system that includes just the functionality these pharmacies need at a fraction of the cost. One advantage is that pharmacies would be able to accept FSA cards, track pseudoephedrine (PSE) sales, and capture signatures, as well as receive updates to comply with any new government regulations, without having to upgrade the system. However, the system is expandable to the full-blown POS system offered by Freedom.
