Patel says his road to pharmacy ownership felt inevitable. “I’ve always wanted to help people, and I’ve always had an interest in health care.” That’s why instances of patients having to leave the pharmacy without their medications were especially heartbreaking. “This was happening multiple times per day, to maybe 20% of our patients, and the logical result was an increase in non-adherence.”
