The Benefits of Electronic Med Education in Assisted-living Settings

More From The May/June 2016 Cover Story

“We’re printing the MedsOnCue QR code on the label for our compliance packaging, which has been very helpful for our assisted living facilities. We find that often in these settings the staff administering the medications are never even getting the paper information. So the QR code on the label is a much better way for them to access information.

It’s important to remember that not only are facility staff busy, but in assisted-living environments they’re usually not nurses. They’re not really medically trained. They’re technically trained on how to pass a med. So they really find the support of being able to scan through to the medication images and information very helpful.” CT
